Register an artwork or collectible with ArtAttest to be part of ongoing market surveillance and verification. Registration greatly enhances the chances of locating and recovering items that are lost, stolen, looted, or otherwise unlawfully sold.
Items with special conditions or ownership issues can also be tracked, enabling ArtAttest to notify you if they reemerge on the market and alert potential buyers to possible risks.
A Secure and Confidential Registry
ArtAttest keeps a protected, private database designed to safeguard sensitive ownership and provenance details. All data is managed with the utmost confidentiality and is not accessible to the public.
A wide variety of uniquely identifiable items can be registered, including, but not limited to, paintings, drawings, sculptures, antiquities, decorative arts, jewelry, watches, musical instruments, historical objects, collectibles, and other cultural valuables.
Market Monitoring & Recovery Support
Registering an item, whether proactively or after loss or theft, enables ArtAttest to monitor sales channels and market activity worldwide. With industry professionals widely using verification tools, attempts to sell registered items can be detected more efficiently.
If an item registered with ArtAttest appears for sale, you will be contacted to verify the transaction. When appropriate, ArtAttest will help coordinate further investigation and recovery efforts with relevant authorities.
Eligibility & Registration Requirements
Any uniquely identifiable item can be registered online, provided there is sufficient documentation or proof of ownership or loss. Fees apply per item, with customized options for large collections or significant losses.
Pre-Loss & Preventive Registration
Valuable items can also be registered beforehand as part of a preventive strategy. These proactive registrations strengthen documentation, traceability, and security, particularly useful for collections with infrequent updates, shared ownership, or items entrusted to third parties.

To register a loss, you just have to create a LutinX account, complete the KYC procedure, prove your identity, and activate the proper license.
For “Lost & Stolen” items, select the ArtSAFE app in the menu, and just press “Register a LOSS item”.
For “Pre-Loss” registration, normally used once you buy a new item or you apply for insurance, just select the ArtSAFE app in the menu, and just press “Register MY item”.
Registrations cover stolen, missing, and looted works, as well as those involved in title disputes, freezing orders, and financial liens, including items in permanent collections.
The database also records works reported by police and leading experts for authenticity concerns.
Collectors can register their items in our ArtSAFE DB. We are negotiating special agreements with insurance companies to lower their contract costs if the collector registers their property with us.
The ArtSAFE database contains thousands of items and is growing by the day, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, antiquities, furniture, silverware, clocks, ceramics, religious artifacts, jewelry, watches, weapons and armor, tapestries, musical instruments, coins, medals, and collectibles.
ArtAttest, used by collectors, allows them to register their property, obtain a trust certificate of deposit, and streamline the sales process.
ArtSAFE database is an additional service generally offered by our Certificators.
In this way, once your item is added to our ArtSAFE DB, it means it has been previously verified by an independent professional who conducted a complete verification.
There is a small initial administrative fee of $2.50 (plus VAT, where applicable) to register a stolen item. Beyond this, we aim to keep fees minimal so they do not impede the identification of stolen artworks; additional fees are charged only if the item is located.
At that point, a ‘Location Fee’ of 2,5% of the net benefit to the registrant is applied. This means that if the object is found by ArtAttest, we will promptly share all known location details with the registrant and connect them with the current holder. If, at the end of the process, the object is recovered or settled, a fee of 2,5% of the benefit to the registrant is then applied.
Pre-Loss registration, managed by one ArtAttest Certificator, starts at 300€ for an item, including a 3D scan, with the Report Certificate fully accessible via QR codes.
If you have any questions about these fees, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
